I would like to say a massive THANK YOU to Desirae for presenting to over 400 parents at the Gauteng Department of Educations first ASD Conference in April at the Gateway School.

All too often our parents feel isolated and alone in their journey with their ASD children. Desirae’s passion for her family and inspiration and courage as she take on a new challenge as a Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa semi-finalist was applauded by the filled hall.

Opening up about the struggles and the accomplishments over the last 18 years with Savannah allowed the parents to hope and dream a little bigger.

For the past 3 years, Jozi 4 Autism has organised an autism awareness/acceptance walk at the Johannesburg Zoo.
This year (2018), we wanted to make it bigger with more schools/therapists/carers hosting stands to promote togetherness and collaboration between everyone who deals with autism in Joburg and surrounds.

My first thought was to have Desirae as a speaker to give a the event a bit of sparkle!
Desirae’s down-to-earth and practical manner contained in a lovely package – help parents & families come to grips with autism by focusing on practical, positive solutions that improve quality of life for autists and their families.
Her talk was attended by most of the people at our event and she kept them captivated with personal stories aimed to motivate and inspire.
